What happened?
On or around December 24, 2023, the Ohio Lottery experienced a cybersecurity breach that allowed unauthorized access to their internal computer network, exposing their maintained data. This unauthorized access and data exposure was discovered on April 5, 2024. After investigation, it was determined that certain files were compromised, and the information obtained included names and Social Security Numbers. The total number of people affected by this breach is 538,959.
