Viega Pipe Press Fittings Antitrust Class Action

Edelson Lechtzin LLP is investigating whether Viega LLC engaged in anticompetitive conduct in the markets for copper press fittings and carbon steel press fittings. Fittings are essential components of pipeline systems that are used to join pipes or tubes. Fittings are produced in configurations of varying size and coatings. For several years, Viega has had monopoly power in the market for carbon press fittings. Viega also holds a dominant position in the market for copper press fittings. It has been alleged by one of Viega's competitors that Viega has engaged in systematic anticompetitive and exclusionary conduct to undermine its’ competitors attempts to compete in the relevant market and maintain and expand their customer bases.

Viega has used its market power in the carbon steel press fittings market to coerce distributors not to buy copper press fittings from competitors. Specifically, Viega refuses to sell its carbon steel press fittings unless a wholesale distributor also purchases Viega's copper press fittings and does not purchase copper press fittings from other Viega competitors.

If you purchased copper press fittings manufactured by Viega LLC from one of its wholesale distributors from January 29, 2015 through the present from you may be entitled to monetary damages. Specifically, we are looking to speak with purchasers from the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah and West Virginia.
